After 3 rounds of 2022

This year has been about improving my speed and racecraft. I’ve been mostly racing at Clay Pigeon Raceway and Mansell and have made lots of improvements, such that I am now racing with the top third of the field.

I have now completed 3 races at Clay Pigeon Raceway. Round 1 was abandoned due to weather after 2 heats. I was running really well in third place and getting in lots of practice in the wet – I was very happy with my performance. In round 2, I improved and finished seventh overall for the day, and in the third round, I finished 5th overall. This means that I am now fifth in the championship at Clay.

I have also completed 3 races at Mansell Raceway. In round 1, I finished fourth, in Round 2, I finished third, and in Round 3, I finished second. Mansell is currently my favourite circuit, I have made lots of gains there and now I’m running amongst the top runners, I am working on my race craft in order to be able to overtake the front runners. I am currently third in the Mansell Kart Racing Club Championship and looking to gain more positions. There isn’t another championship round for a couple of months, but in June the “O” plate is coming to Mansell, so I am looking forward to competing there with some of the top drivers in the UK.

Finally, I competed in the “E” plate at Forest Edge Kart Club, after a good Friday and Saturday practice, I was fast and feeling confident. Unfortunately on race day, we had problems with the kart set up which put me in the middle of the pack and so I had a few tangles with other drivers. Overall I finished tenth, I was happy with my progress and improved my personal best by over a second. But, I was hoping to capitalise on that speed during the race which we failed to do.
